Is cross stitch easy for beginners?

Yes, cross stitch is considered quite beginner-friendly!  In my opinion, yes! Years before I began to cross stitch I did embroidery and was taught by my grandmother. She began teaching me to do pillowcases with pretty floral borders. Then I began to do Crewel Embroidery and loved the wool fibers. My Mother was an artist and she enjoyed looking at my cross stitch patterns as she always grided her canvas to begin an oil painting!

The basic X-shaped stitch is easy to learn and repeat.  Most cross stitch designs come on a grid, which helps you keep track of your progress and placement.  You only need a few basic supplies—needle, thread, fabric, and a hoop.  It's a very relaxing hobby.  Put your favorite show on the TV, hang with the family and pets, then stitch away.  The time will fly by and you'll actually have something to show for your time.  The more work you hang in your home I imagine the prouder you will feel!

If you're looking to start, you might want to try a small, simple project first to get the hang of it.
